The kick-off meeting of this strategic partnership (Erasmus+ key action 2) MATE took place on the 3rd and 4th of December 2018. We were lucky to get to visit Cyprus and its capital Nicosia, the last divided capital in the world: atmosphere charged with living history. It seemed therefore even more important to dive into this new project which focuses on integration and exchange between cultures.
MATE – « Mingle-Acknowledge-Trust Events » – it’s an innovative, student-cantered approach to intercultural skills acquisition for local and foreign students.
During the two days of the meeting, the partners from Cyprus, Greece, Austria, Spain, Sweden and France discussed the objectives for the coming months, the productions and activities and their common approach.
In the coming months, we are going to write a European report on common forms of hate speech online and offline. The report will consist of national reports on the situation in all the countries in the consortium. We are also going to coordinate the creation of an Intercultural skills assessment online tool.
All productions and activities will be carried out in consultation and cooperation with students in all the partner countries.
